Consider this channel a media blender, a sort of Media-O-Matic. Any live music that I do is created "on the spot". Acoustic, electric, drums, vocal, all of it is created and performed "on the spot". Plus I post vintage 78 RPM records, 45 RPM records, and LP records played in real time. The audio is not from a cd or computer program. The source is the actual record. I also post footage from a public access television show that aired in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1980's called "Blue Monday ". I also post scenes from my current public access show "Who's The Guy In The Hat?". I also post anything else that fits the blender profile. My hope is that you will enjoy this blender barrage.

The tape this live version of "House Party" came from was the result of a whim on the part of Frank Pavlich (house mixer for the J. Geils band) and me many years ago. We were doing an outdoor show in Georgia (Athens?) in the late 70s and I suggested that we put my boombox cassette player next to him on the mixing board and see what a tape made of the band's set sounded like after the show, beca...

Years ago, when I would get home from work late at night, sometimes I'd play my acoustic guitar in my bedroom to unwind. I'd sometimes record what I did on a cassette boombox sitting on my dresser. The audio on this video is one of the things I made up after work and recorded in one take on that boombox. I came across it recently and here it is.

"Magnatone Motion"

I bought this vintage Magnatone lap steel (serial # 52109) in a pawn shop in Bakersfield California around 1977. You could tell it led a hard life and was heavily customized by somebody. It has a hand-made bridge that has a slot for a seventh string above high E that it had once upon a time and hole in the headstock where a tuner once went.. It has always had a fat full sound. A sound that insp...

There's no rule that says you can't break the rules when it comes to making music. In fact breaking the rules is often where fun and innovation comes from.
My Canned Heat Story

In 1975, I was the soundman for a band out of Pittsburgh. During that time the band open for Canned Heat at several bar/club type venues. This is my recollection of one of those nights.

The Beatles In A Bar (With A Short Intro by me)
"Can I pick?" cracks me up. Why, yes, Carl, you can.
Superb Elvis as usual.
The bass player is going absolutely wild with that walking bass
This was sweet.
Why would they "bob" a half's tail? Don't they need it to swat away flies & other flying insects?
This is the best car song from the Sixties. A combination of talents, including that of Brian Wilson and Jan Berry. One problem with the video. The phrase … “When an XKE pulled up on the right”. The lyrics are correct … but the video shows the XKE pulling up on the left ! The lyrics are referring to the driver’s right, not the right side of the screen you are viewing the video on. The XKE should have been shown on the right side of the Sting Ray, not the left.
Tatum-GOAT-impressed with Charlie Barnet tone. Nice pre Bebop
I worked with Rick(bam-bam) Powell at Perkins in1982. Luv that time and music. 😊
I wish they had this organ music back again. Especially at Baseball Games. , and Hockey Games .The musict that they play today at sports is so distasteful.I miss Helen Dell, Nancy Bea Hefley as the Dodger Stadium organist . Also Gladys Gooding who was the long time organist at Ebbetts Field for the old Brooklyn Dodgers. Their are other organist , like Eddie Layton from Yankee Stadium. I can’t give you others. It would take so many paragraphs, but you get my message. Music today is from hunger.
WEBN, how we miss you....and GODS, how I miss the days of true local radio. (Btw, the Bears did a great version of this, too -- ACRN in Athens OH played the hell out of both versions back in the day!)
HI George!, your video popped up on my youtube feed. Thank you for sharing, I hope you are well.
This song is incredible on so many levels. Roy Roger’s voice is so smooth.
The best music ever
Sounds like Michael Zanadu (aka Wood) on the voice over!
It's funny how my punk "friends" deny or reject cool things like this. Few bands have had so much diversity in repertoire and versions. I wonder how they listen to Johnny Thunders if they don't understand the spirit.
Not a lot of Elvis fans like this I personally think it’s a great song listen n u will know
Terrific production and arrangement.
The "Stingray" on the video is a 56 or 57. Stinrays came out in 63
Legend!
Man Kept His Groove Till The End.
I have this album!!! I play it every Christmas. It inspired me to play jazz trumpet carols in the 70s
Beautiful slow boogie. They were the masters. Lend an ear to a couple of Australian paying homage: Ezra Lee and Damon Smith. The spirit lives on!
Bro on the piano lost it
His early stuff such as this is by far the best.
Great single, and the cartoon fits up with Cyril's aesthetic, but this really needs a better print and some AI. 👎 for effort, and 👍 for music.
"Quarter to Three" is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the most influential rock songs ever recorded.
Have a great summer July 10 2024🎸
I'll tell ya how in the -hell- world the old folks tell it ain't gonna rain no more! They poisoning our beautiful thunderstorms with silver iodide now, is how. To maximize profit.
warners brought me here
I've only ever seen this once on a DVD my mom's friend had of old cartoons, and it's been stuck in my head since. Glad I found it again Also, for reference, I'm 20, I'm not as old as y'all lol
Changed the words to this song. Sing it at the jaag club. Come on a jaag does bends. Yank tank ???? . No chance.
A big undertaking for a three piece band. Or was McKeag still with us? Warren King is amazing!
Listened again we were still a five piece band n
My brain brought me here.
I used to have a long-haired Dashund. I used to make a joke, "they told me to get a long little doggie, so I did."
show coisa de prima excelente aí sabe !
Jan Berry is almost a forgotten '60s rock participant. But his dramatic production of this record (along with his other Jan & Dean productions) is surpassed by no one else.
I had this on a kids cartoon compilation vhs as a child! Haven't seen it in years!!
The Program brought me to this song... Great song!
This reminds me of Yosemite Sam singing his version that went: "I can't get a long little doggy I can't even get one that's small No, I can't get a long little doggy I can't get a doggy at all" 😂
It’s amazing that Cab Calloway was still performing when I was born
So cool - the very best of Jazz of that period
It's your misfortune and none of my own
I freakin' LOVE Chicago!!!
What a treat that we have this performance on video that we can watch whenever we want Cab Calloway was amazing. I don’t know what it would take to see another performer or another era of music that was so impactful.
Johnny depp singing this masterpiece😢
This is my childhood from my VHS tape. 😍
Pee wee Herman is a good drummer.
Thank you George, and especially you, Roy! We shared this magical baseball year together!!! ⚾️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This sounds like it would fit into a Tarantino flick
